Our goal is to promote and recognize documentary filmmakers from around the world.
We at HIIDA value the difficulties that documentary filmmakers go through, be it subject, locations and on top of all funding and distribution.
Your Mandatory Checklist for better success in HIIDA.
a. Upload a poster or still of your film.
b. Update all cast and crew information in the credits of your film page.
b. Enable your film download, and be prepared to send your trailer asap as requested.
c. Don't miss any emails or our social media posts during your submission period.
My Film is Officially Selected, what's the next step?
Your film will now be considered for awards and for the screening at our quarterly festival, however it is not confirmed at this point. You can use the festival’s Laurel picture on your poster or film.
This is the right time to submit your project, in additional Categories. There will be an addition fee.
We will have awards in the following categories.

Best Foreign Feature
Best Time-Lapse
Best Talent on Camera
Best Narration

My Film is selected for screening, what's the next step?
Each filmmaker will receive a VIP invitation to their screening block and Award Ceremony. If your cast and crew would like to attend the festival, tickets for the event can be purchased by using the secured link from the followup email that will be sent to you.
Once the payment is received an e-ticket will be emailed to you. Please print and bring it along. We are eagerly waiting to welcome you on the Red Carpet.
